"I have no idea what I would have done without Michael. Setting up a new business is hard enough without having to think about all the ancillary things such as bookkeeping, website and creative stuff. Michael is also calm, unflappable and responsive, traits that help keep me on the straight and narrow as I navigate the day-to-day activities of a new business.
Michael does our payroll and Quickbooks, has saved us money on business rates, does general admin and provides business advice and forecasting. Michael is also very creative and has designed our website as well as added a fun ice cream-discount-game to it to engage our customers.
Michael does just about everything except cook the food we make and serve in the shop!"
Colin's is a vegan ice cream parlour owned and managed by Lisset B in Chepstow, Wales. They opened in October 2024 but employed our services from May, initally to design their website and menus, but ultimately to run the financial and admin side of operations
We provide Colin's with bookkeeping services, running payroll weekly and have also projected income and expenditure over the period of a year in order to anticipate cash-flow and to avoid nasty surprises.
On Colin's behalf we have applied for and received business rates relief - saving 40% on their net bill - and have applied for an alcohol licence, a process which involves completing a 21 section form.
As part of a promotional campaign devised by us, we produced a simple 'ice-cream catch' game that can be played online. If successfully played on the premises, customers receive a 2-for-1 voucher for ice cream.
"Boy Friday are simply amazing! With their incredible business support/VA services they have transformed what I can achieve and how I feel about my business.
They have given me expert technical support, website support, design flair, marketing services, and general admin support with everything from proofreading, to travel bookings and emails.
I cannot imagine doing business without their friendly, professional and supportive presence. If you want to do what you are good at rather than getting overwhelmed by all the ‘other’ stuff that has to be done - They’ll change your life in the best way imaginable. They are a true business friend."
NLP in the North is a long-established provider of training programmes in neurolinguistic programming, mBraining and the Enneagram owned by Dr Henrie Lidiard. Based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire they deliver their training both locally and around the UK.
For Henrie we have designed and created a newsletter and a variety of promotional material for her training courses. This material is distributed to her client base via targetted email campaigns executed by us.
Alongside specfic design services, we provide Henrie with general office support, acting as a virtual assistant with duties ranging from document drafting, proofreading and creating PowerPoint presentations to assisitng with venue hire and travel arrangements.
Ultimately our aims are twofold: firstly, to help Henrie to reach the widest possible audience, ensuring optimum numbers attend her courses; secondly to free up Henrie's time and headspace so that she can concentrate on developing engaging course content and exploring new training opportunities.
"PsychList was a proposal that came out of a passion for low cost therapy provision. Michael took the bare bones of the idea and ran with it. He created the website from scratch, doing all the coding and aesthetics. Michael also created the logo and name of the site. He worked with me to ensure it became the directory I wanted.
He continues to work with me to make changes as well as maintain the site and perform all administrative tasks relating to new listings.
This is an ongoing project and it couldn't run without Michael doing what he does, which is everything."
PsychList is a directory of UK psychotherapists who offer reduced fee sessions to people on low incomes. It's the brainchild of Beth, founder of mental health charity BaseCamp.
We designed and the built the website; it's one of our more complex projects, involving database creation and manipulation, PayPal integration, calls to external data providers, for example postcode checkers, user email verification and a raft of other bells and whistles.
This is an ongoing project: we maintain the site and administer new users and their profiles. We are also the first point of contact for enquiries about the site.
